Hannah’s story

I am from a family of nine children. I'm married with four children and an additional of four foster care children and a month old granddaughter. I love them all so much and they are everything to me. I was not raised in a rich family but we had something to eat and had clothes to wear everyday. What I do is take care of my family and community. In my community, I take care of children that struggle to get something to eat or clothes to wear and teach them to respect themselves and have discipline.

What skills and resources were you able to draw from the community for this project?

Beading and letting them play sports.

The challenges

I aim to stop hunger and malnutrition. I also aim to teach them discipline , how to boost their self-esteem and love their bodies and lastly not to take drugs.

Addressing the challenges

Within my community there are a group of children that come to me to learn life skills, which keeps them away from bad things.

The achievements

The children that i have nurtured have gained necessary life skills.
